My Evil Family

A Sullivan Family Thanksgiving Special

Thanksgiving is this Thursday. Ginger may think I'm an ungrateful brat but there are a few things I'm thankful for, and I'd like to mention them here:

1. I'm thankful for the two and a half days we get off from school for Thanksgiving.

2. I'm thankful that Almighty gives us enough money to live on, because if we had to depend on Ginger and Daddy-o to support us we'd be starving in a trailer off Route 40. And with 8 of us in the family that would be one crowded trailer. Thank you, Almighty! Kiss kiss!

3. I'm thankful to Norrie for letting me smoke in her room, even though I know she hates it. That's what big sisters are for.

4. I'm thankful to Sully for going to college far away and leaving me in peace. I almost forgot how obnoxious he can be, but he's home now reminding me.

5. I'm thankful to Brigid for being my friend when no one else will. Maybe she wouldn't be my first choice but I appreciate her dog-like loyalty.

5. I know I have a lot of blessings like good health, a decent education, a reasonably non-abusive family, plenty to eat and a comfortable life and all those things, and if I let myself think about it for too long I'd be thankful for them. But just now I'd rather not dwell on it. It annoys me that I HAVE to give thanks on Thanksgiving just because it's a national holiday and it's the law or something. I want to be thankful in my own time. I promise to give thanks on...let's see... how about February 3? On February 3 I will sit down quietly and be thankful for my blessings. February 3 will be my personal Thanksgiving Day.

6. Et cetera, et cetera.

What are you thankful for?
